Randall J. Bufford
Randy Bufford and his wife, Susan, have always believed that serving and supporting others is a core family value.
Randy is the founder and Chairman of the Board of Louisville-based Trilogy Health Services,
which today operates over 115 senior living communities across four states. He has nearly 40
years of experience in the healthcare industry, primarily in the post-acute and seniors housing
Randy and Susan can best be described as “doers” and “givers” in every facet of their lives. The
values they strive to live by – compassion, generosity, and service – are also engrained in the
culture at Trilogy. In 2007, the Bufford’s established the Trilogy Foundation, a non-profit
dedicated to serving company employees in times of inspiration and desperation.
Through the Foundation, employees have access to scholarship opportunities, tuition assistance,
apprenticeship programs, and even tuition-free college through Purdue Global University. By
offering emergency assistance, the Foundation also assists employees in times of need, providing
support to overcome unexpected life challenges. Recently, under Susan Bufford’s guidance, the
Trilogy Foundation established “Susan’s Savings First Time Home Buyers Program”, which
matches employee savings toward their first home at a rate of two to one. The Bufford’s
commitment to giving is contagious, which explains why over 63% of Trilogy employees
currently donate to the Trilogy Foundation.
Randy and Susan also share their success in life through The Bufford Family Foundation, funding
charitable causes across the Louisville community that focus on education, wellness, and transforming lives.
