Many individuals and organizations realize there is a time to give back to the community for the many gifts received. As a donor to this Foundation, you have an opportunity to make a huge impact on the future of education in the greater Louisville area by providing the means for many well deserving students to attend the school of their choice. This is an opportunity to make that impact a reality in a very efficient way that assists each of the more than 60 schools in the Archdiocese of Louisville.

Catholic Congregation – much of the assets of the current endowment fund was generated from the 1997 campaign which was focused primarily on individual parishioners of the Catholic churches throughout the Louisville area. These families and their non-Catholic constituents are the same individuals who are in most need of the assistance being promoted by the Foundation and therefore the Foundation is also dependent on others for support. The congregation remains involved in support by way of the annual Easter collection at all the parishes.

Businesses – most businesses acknowledge their most precious asset is their employee. If your business believes employees are valuable and if your business believes competition among schools is a good thing, a very nice way assist the Foundation in this endeavor and to say thank you to your employees who attended Catholic schools is to include the Foundation on your company’s annual giving list.

In considering the request, please remember this campaign addresses ALL Catholic schools and is based on an individual’s needs. In this manner, your company is NOT giving to any individual school and therefore should not be solicited by its employees to assist “their” school. Your contribution is addressing a greater issue; it is addressing the value of competition and choice in the education process and the benefits your company has received from that environment.

Affluent Individuals – if you are an “empty nester” or if you are an individual who has benefited financially from your Catholic education, please consider “passing it along” by contributing the equivalent of a year’s tuition ($6,000) each year to the Foundation. Even though you are not permitted to designate the recipient of your generosity, please be assured the recipient will know you were among those who made it happen. If this amount is beyond your ability, please know the Foundation is grateful for whatever you give. Likewise, if you have a greater ability, the need is there. Contributions may be paid monthly, quarterly, semi-annually or annually.

Foundations – it is somewhat unusual for one foundation to contribute to another foundation however, the Catholic Education Foundation of Louisville is sufficiently unique that it merits consideration. The Foundation is an independent organization, professionally managed and governed by an independent Board to focus solely on assisting the students of Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Louisville. By making a contribution to the Foundation your foundation can permanently endow a partial financial aid scholarship recognizing the generosity of your foundation as sponsor. It is a unique way for your foundation to address the issue one time while having that action live perpetually via this Foundation.

Privately Held Trusts – these types of trusts are unique vehicles wherein individuals advance issues of their specific interest. The Foundation is organized to accept specialized requests for those who value education either in general or in situations of special needs. By contributing to the Foundation, the trustee may permanently instruct the Foundation to perpetuate advocacy of the individual’s area of interest.
